Bradykinin β2 Receptor −58T/C Gene Polymorphism and Essential Hypertension: A Meta-Analysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
BACKGROUND Research has shown that bradykinin β(2) receptor (BDKRB2) -58T/C gene polymorphism is correlated with the risk of essential hypertension (EH), but the results remain inconclusive. OBJECTIVE AND METHODS The objective of this study was to explore the association between BDKRB2-58T/C gene polymorphism and EH. A meta-analysis of 11 studies with 3882 subjects was conducted. Pooled odds ratios (ORs) for the association between BDKRB2-58T/C gene polymorphism and EH and their corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were estimated using the random effects model. RESULTS The BDKRB2-58T/C gene polymorphism was significantly correlated with EH under an allelic genetic model (OR = 1.24, 95% CI = 1.05-1.46; P = 0.01), a dominant genetic model (OR = 0.65, 95% CI = 0.47-0.90; P = 0.01), a recessive genetic model (OR = 1.146, 95% CI = 1.035-1.269; P = 0.009), a homozygote genetic model (OR = 1.134, 95% CI = 1.048-1.228; P = 0.002), and a heterozygote genetic model (OR = 1.060, 95% CI = 1.009-1.112; P = 0.019). CONCLUSIONS The BDKRB2-58T/C gene polymorphism is associated with increased EH risk. The results of this study suggest that carriers of the -58C allele are susceptible to EH.

BACKGROUND The risk of bradykinin B2 receptor (BDKRB2) -58T/C gene polymorphism on hypertension remains controversial. MATERIALS AND METHODS The Cochrane Library, Chinese Biomedical Database, EBSCO, Embase, ISI, MEDLINE, and PubMed were retrieved, and relevant articles were selected. متن کاملBradykinin B(2) receptor gene polymorphism is associated with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor-related cough.
The appearance of cough in association with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors is thought to be related to bradykinin, and it has been speculated that the elicitation of adverse effects is genetically predetermined. Several polymorphisms of the human bradykinin B(2) receptor gene may be involved in ACE inhibitor-related cough. To investigate this possibility, we identified the -58 t...

OBJECTIVE This study examined the association of C-58T genotypes with obesity/hypertension related parameters and serum lipids in obese (n=108) and non-obese (n=80) patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS Bradykinin receptor (B₂R) C-58T genotypes were determined by PCR-RFLP. RESULTS B₂R gene C-58T frequencies for T/T (homozygous wild type), T/C (heterozygous) and C/C (homozygous polymorphic) genoty...
متن کاملThe Effect of Bradykinin B2 Receptor Polymorphisms on the Susceptibility and Severity of Osteoarthritis in a Chinese Cohort
BACKGROUND The B2-bradykinin receptor (BDKRB2) has been reported to associate with onset and development of Osteoarthritis (OA); however, the role of BDKRB2 genetic polymorphisms in OA remains unknown. METHOD A total of 245 patients with primary knee OA and 264 healthy volunteer were recruited. BDKRB2 gene polymorphisms, -58T/C and +9/-9 bp polymorphisms, were genotyped. RESULTS The genotyp...
